Privacy Policy
Fat2Fit Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-08. This policy describes what data the app uses, when data may leave the device, and which choices the user has.
1. Data used in the app
Fat2Fit may handle the following categories of data:
- profile and onboarding data
- training cycles, workouts, sets, and history
- recovery signals, health data, and nutrition logs
- coach memory and coach-related summaries
- premium entitlement and subscription-related status
Most of this data is stored locally on the device in the app’s own data storage.
2. HealthKit
If the user explicitly enables HealthKit, Fat2Fit may read:
- sleep data
- resting heart rate
- heart rate variability (HRV / SDNN)
- step count
- body weight
HealthKit is used to give the app better training and recovery context. HRV is used locally on the device together with sleep and resting heart rate to estimate recovery status. No HealthKit data is written back, shared with third parties, or sent from the device by default. HealthKit is optional and the app works without HealthKit permission.
3. Notifications
Fat2Fit can send local reminders and coach-related notifications if the user chooses to enable them. Notification permission is not requested automatically on launch.
4. Cloud AI and third-party processing
By default, Fat2Fit uses local coach logic on device.
In the planned first public release, premium users may, when valid cloud configuration is present in the release environment, receive cloud-formulated coach responses via OpenAI. This can mean that relevant parts of the coach context are sent to OpenAI in order to formulate the current response. This may include training- and wellness-related context needed for the current coach interaction.
Swift-based app logic keeps decision-making, safety limits, and local fallback in the app. OpenAI is not a hard requirement for the coach feature. If the cloud service is not used in release, is unavailable, or the user does not have premium, no coach context is sent to OpenAI for this purpose.
5. Subscriptions
Premium purchases and restore operations are handled by Apple through the App Store. Fat2Fit uses entitlement status to unlock premium features in the app.
6. Sharing and tracking
Fat2Fit is not built for advertising tracking. If future versions begin using additional third-party services or other forms of data sharing, this policy should be updated before that functionality is used in release.
7. Your choices
- deny or revoke HealthKit permission in iOS Settings
- deny or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings
- manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple account subscriptions
